BOAT WITH YELLOW EGG. BOAT WITH LADDER.
Boat is a tool, and a symbol, that has marked the history and culture of most of the countries around the world. Traditions linked to boats as a mean of transportation and commerce are lost in early times. The basic function of a boat is to float above the water (oceans, seas, lakes, rivers) to carry persons and their goods. Beyond its practical scope, it has become the main mean to discover far and unimaginable places since men started to explore the vastness of seas and earth, generating a multitude of myths and histories, from Ulysses to modern pirates. Boats are often associated to the idea of afterlife, evoking a strong transcendent symbolism, like in the myth of Charon the soul’s ferryman. Boat’s metaphysics is probably linked to its shape that reminds a belly, which transmits a sense of protection and maternity in opposition to death. The boat’s symbolism and its significant role in almost all human cultures is the fertile soil where the roots of this project began to grow.
